1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. soda dissolved in 2 T water
5 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars and shortening. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in water and add to sugar mixture, being sure to scrape out measuring cup. Mix salt, flour, and baking powder together. Add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
