12" dutch oven
Prepare and cook in 60 minutes

For best results, heat fruit to steaming while mixing batter.
Don't be in a hurry! When you start to smell it, there is another 10-15 minutes baking time remaining.

1 box of cake mix - your choice, but yellow or white works best
1 egg
Cooking oil if cake mix requires it
2 cans pie filling fruit (cherry, peach, apple, etc)

Line bottom of oven with foil or parchment if desired (helps clean up)
Mix cake batter according to directions, except only add 1 egg no matter what the package specifies.
Add fruit to oven, then pour cake mix evenly over the fruit.
Put coals in a ratio of 2 to 3 for bottom to top.
Cook 15 minutes and then remove most of the bottom coals and put these on the top of the oven.
Cook until golden brown and a toothpick or knife comes out clean (about 30 more minutes)
