1 pkg. yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
4 c. flour - (regular or whole wheat or combination of the two)
1 egg beaten
coarse salt

Directions:
Directions:
Grease cookie sheet or use parchment paper. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt, sugar, flour. Mix well and then knead, (rising time is optional). Divide dough into 20 balls. Roll out into long "snake" then form pretzel. Put pretzels on cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle lightly with salt. Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes. Do not overbake.
