8 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 T. ginger
10 T. boiling water
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. molasses
1 c. shortening, melted
1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure 4 c. Add soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon. Combine boiling water, molasses, butter, and shortening. Add flour mixture and blend well. Add remaining flour and mix well. Let stand in cool place several hours. Turn onto floured board. Divide dough into 1/4's and work with 1/4 at a time; keep remaining dough chilled until ready to use. Roll out to desired thickness and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 until done, about 8 min. Do not overcook.
