3 carrots, sliced
3 potatoes, diced (I use more)
3 onions, quartered
1 stalk celery with tops, cut up
1-2 lbs. stew meat or beef chuck cut into cubes
4 c. beef broth
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
salt if necessary
1 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. paprika
4 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
Optional: add 1/2 c. tapioca for thick stew
Optional: add uncooked barley

Put all meat and vegetables in cooker. Stir together broth and seasoning (and tapioca and barley, if using). Cook on low 10-12 hours or on high 4-6 hours.

I cut the vegetables fairly small so they'll cook quicker.
Hawaiian style: serve over hot, cooked rice
