3/4 c. sliced celery
3/4 c. sliced carrots
1 1/2 c. diced potatoes
1/3 c. diced onions
4 c. chicken broth (or 4 c. water and 4 tsp. chicken bouillon granules)
1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. half & half
1/4 c. margarine or butter
1-2 cooked, cubed chicken breasts

Cook vegetables until tender in 2 c. chicken broth. Whisk the other 2 c. chicken broth into the flour and add. Cook until thick, stirring. Add remaining ingredients and heat through.

This recipe came from Shirley Van Wagenen. I added the potatoes, and I always double the batch. I often use this for a compassionate service meal. I take along a loaf of fresh bread to round things out.
