"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. maple-flavored syrup
1/4 c. melted margarine
2 (12-oz.) cans biscuits
1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese

2 T. soft margarine
1/2 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350. In an ungreased 9" x 13" pan, combine brown sugar, nuts, syrup, and margarine. Spread evenly in bottom of pan. In a small bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and softened margarine until smooth. Stir in coconut.

Separate dough into 20 biscuits. Press or roll each into a 4" circle. Spoon 1 T. cream cheese mixture down center of each circle to within 1/4" of edge. Overlap sides of dough over filling, forming finger-shaped rolls. Arrange rolls seam side down in 2 rows of 10 rolls each over brown sugar mixture in pan. Bake for 25-30 min. or until deep golden brown. Cool 3-5 min.; invert onto foil, waxed paper or serving platter.

Personal Notes:
Kay is the wife of Cecil Newman, the daughter of Virginia (Rogers) Hollenshead & the late John Hollenshead & the granddaughter of the late Charlie & Carrie (Wade) Hollenshead. I love these while they are still warm from the oven.
