1 1/2 sticks butter
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
6 oz. chocolate chips
14 oz. caramels

Directions:
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in a double boiler. Set aside.
Melt butter and the other 1/3 cup evaporated milk together; beat into cake mix. Add walnuts. Press 1/2 of cake mixture in the bottom of a well-greased 7 x 12 inch pan ( I used a 9 x 13 and baked a little less). Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour melted caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Place the rest of the cake mixture on top of caramels. Bake 350 for 20-25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
