Bottom layer:
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. brown sugar
6 T. butter or margarine

Middle layer:
1 square melted unsweetened chocolate
4 T. butter or margarine, melted
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts

Top layer:
1-1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 T. butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
4 T. milk

Directions:
Bottom Layer:
Put mixture in a baking pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, Do not pack layer.
Middle layer:
Combine ingredients (chocolate through nuts). Spread over baked layer. Return to oven and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
Top layer:
Frost after first two layers have cooled.
