Ingredients: 1/2 c. butter 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 3 eggs 3 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 1 pie shell unbaked 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions: |
Directions:Preheat oven to 300º. In large mixer bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy...adding 1/2 cup sugar at a time. Cream until mixture no longer feels grainy. Blend in vanilla. Add in eggs, one at a time mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture a little at a time. Blend in buttermilk to finish custard. Sprinkle pecans in bottom of crust. Pour custard mixture over pecans. Bake 1 1/2 hours. |

Notes: I suggest using a pie ring around the top of your crust to eliminate excessive browning. This is a "no-fail" pie I use at holidays.
