1 cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups oatmeal
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together and pat 1/2 mixture on bottom of sided cookie sheet.

Mix in double boiler - 1 large package chocolate chips, 1 cup Bordens condensed milk, 4 tsp. butter, 1/2 cup walnuts.

Cool slightly and pour over first layer. Cover with remaining dry mixture as best you can. Bake 25 minutes at 350.
