"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
6 eggs 1 C. shredded cheese 1 C. milk 1/2 C. meat (I use cubed ham) 1 C. vegetables (frozen thawed broccoli or vegetable mixtures work well) 1 prepared pie crust Salt and pepper as desired
Preheat oven to 375º F. In a medium mixing bowl, thoroughly beat eggs and milk. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour or spoon into prepared crust. Bake 30-40 minutes or until eggs are set in the middle.
I use this as a demonstration with 6th graders before their first lab. The subtitle on the recipe reads "Cooking is fun and easy! Some people can even do it blindfolded". Yes, I choose a student to help with the demonstration who is blindfolded. I offer extra credit to any student who makes it at home (they don't need to use the blindfold at home!).
