Lemon Ice:
4 cups sugar
4 cups water
4 cups cold water
3/4 cup lemon juice

2 10-ounce packages frozen raspberries
1 16-ounce can pineapple tidbits, drained
6 bananas, sliced
2 10-ounce packages frozen blueberries
2-3 quarts lemon lime soda

Other fruits in season may be added if desired (watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, etc.)

In a large saucepan combine sugar and 4 cups of water. Boil for 5 minutes. Add 4 cups of cold water and lemon juice; freeze. (This recipe makes 2 quarts. The lemon ice may be kept frozen for several weeks, It should be made at least 24 hours in advance of use.)

Remove lemon ice 20 minutes before serving to slightly thaw. When ready to serve, break lemon ice into small chunks in a large punch bowl. Add fruits and combine with lemon ice. Just before serving add soda.

This may also be served in individual punch cups. Lemon ice and fruits are placed in cups and then soda is added. This drink can be used as a heavy slush with very little soda added or can be made diluted according to individual preference.
