1/2 cup butter
2 cups flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoon soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place sugar, butter, cocoa and buttermilk in large mixing bowl, add boiling water. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Slowly add flour and vanilla. Pour mixture into oiled and floured cake pan and bake 35 to 40 minutes, until cake tester comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 30 minutes then turn out onto cooling rack. Frost after completely cooled.
