1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped green pepper (optional)
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 egg
3 slices bread, cubed
1 10 oz can tomato soup

Directions:
Directions:
Combine meat, salt, green pepper, onion and egg. Add bread cubes and 3/4 c. of tomato soup. Mix thoroughly, shape into loaf and place in baking pan. Pour remaining soup over loaf. Bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours.

This recipe calls for 3 slices of cubed bread. I guess this was before packaged bread crumbs were invented. :)
