2 T. shortening
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 T. salt
1 46 oz. can tomato juice
3 c. water
2 c. small noodles
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening in 4 qt. sauce pan. Add beef, onion and salt. Brown lightly for 5 min. over med. heat. Add tomato juice and water. Bring to boil over high heat. Add noodles and pepper. Cook 10 min. Add frozen vegetables. Cook another 10 min. Reduce heat to simmer until serving time.
