1 Nut Crust
2 1/2 lbs. apples, peeled, cored and sliced
(3 medium apples usually equal 1 pound)
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 to 3 T. dark rum (optional)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
3 T. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. In large bowl combine apples, brown sugar, cornstarch, rum, cinnamon and pecans; mix well. Spoon into pastry lined pie pan and dot with butter. Cover pie with rolled out or lattice crust. Bake 45-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown and juices are bubbling. Serve warm.
Variation: Add 1/2 cup cheddar cheese to pie dough.
