1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. bran cereal or uncooked oatmeal
4-5 ripe bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour (white, wheat or combo)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix. Add the cereal (or oatmeal), bananas and vanilla. Stir. Combine the remaining ingredients, add to the first mixture, stirring only long enough to moisten the flour. Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan at 350
for 1 hour or until bread tests as done with toothpick.
