1/4 c. vegetable oil
4 medium onions, diced
2 medium garlic cloves, minced
ice cream pail, heaping full of tomatoes
2 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. parsley flakes
2 T. oregano leaves
2 T. salt
2 tsp. basil
3/4 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves

Directions:
Directions:
In a 12 qt. pan, over medium heat, add vegetable oil and heat. Add onions, garlic until tender, stirring frequently for about 10 minutes on low to medium heat. Add peeled and cut up tomatoes (diced) and remaining ingredients. Cook over high heat to boil, reduce heat to medium low, partially covered and cook 2 hours. Discard bay leaves. Put into pint jars, cover, put in hot water bath for 10 minutes.
