2/3 c. butter flavored shortening
2/3 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar (NOT pickling salt!!!)
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. In large bowl, cram together the shorteining, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Place dough in rounded tablespoon on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until centers are set and very lightly browned. Don't over bake. Cool 2-3 minutes before removing from baking sheets.

CAUTION: If you are making this at Grandma Sauvageau's house, make sure when you're adding the sugar that you don't grab the jar of pickling salt instead.
