Crust:
1 yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/4 c. margarine; softened
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans

Filling:
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. margarine; melted
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans

Directions:

Preheat oven 350. In large brown combine cake mix, egg, butter, coconut and pecans. Beat on low speed until well blended. Mixture will be crumbly. Press mixture into greased and floured 9x13 in. baking dish. Bake for 13 minutes or until edges are light brown (not dark). In a medium bowl combine sugar, eggs, salt, corn syrup, butter and vanilla. Beat on high speed until fluffy. Stir in pecans. Pour filling over hot crust and return to oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until edges are brown. Be sure not too over bake. May be served with cool whip.
