Wash and pack fresh from the vines cucumbers in sterilized jars with dill in bottom and top of jar. Then heat to boiling and pour over the cucumbers the following solution: 1 qt. vinegar 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. salt 1 c. water
Seal immediately. If cucumbers are not fresh from the vine, soak 1 hour in ice water. Let stand 2 weeks before using.
