1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1//2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. corn meal
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
8 to 12 frankfurters

Directions:
Directions:
Blend together the flour, baking powder, salt. Mix in corn meal; cut in shortening; add egg and milk. Stir well until blended. Dip 8 to 12 frankfurters into batter, one at a time. Fry in deep hot fat at 365 until brown, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Drain on absorbent paper. Insert a wooden skewer in end of each frankfurter. Serve with catsup or mustard.
