8 oz. extra lean ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 medium onion (4 per lb.) chopped
1 garlic minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 T. flour
3/4 c beef broth
1 can red kidney beans (15 oz.) drained
1 can golden hominy or corn (15 oz.) drained
1 c. chopped green or red bell pepper
1/2 tsp. dried basil

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat until no longer pink, using a fork to break up meat. Remove any drippings. Stir onion and garlic into meat. Cook 1 minute, stirring frequently. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour. Add broth to meat mixture, stir until mixture comes to a full boil. Carefully stir in kidney beans, hominy, bell pepper and basil. Bring back to a boil; reduce heat until mixture barely simmers. Cover; simmer until heated through, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
