1 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup sifted confectioners' sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 1/4 cups sifted flour 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts Confectioners' sugar
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Sift together flour and salt and mix well with nuts. Stir sifted dry ingredients into butter mixture. Chill dough for 1 hour. Roll into 1" balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until set but not brown in 400ºF oven for 10-12 minutes. While still warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again. Makes about 4 dozen.
