2 lbs frozen southern style hashbrowns
1/2 cup diced onions (optional)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 stick melted butter (recipe calls for 1 stick)
8 oz cheddar cheese (sharp is best)

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Spread in 13X9 inch pan and bake for 1 hour or until bubbling and golden brown.
