1 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
2/3 c shortening
3 eggs
2 c flour, sifted
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp.soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp.cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c sour milk or buttermilk
1 c nuts and 1 c dates (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening with sugars; then add eggs.Mix the flour, soda, salt and spices, sifted. Add milk, vanilla. Mix in nuts & dates. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 Mins.
