3 large fresh jalapeņos, sliced 1/8" thick
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
2 t. grated lemon zest
2 t. packed brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally. Marinate, chilled, at least 4 hours.

This is delicious served on shrimp and scallion pancakes. If you do not have time to prepare it and let it sit for 8 hours, you can marinate it for as little as 4 hours.
