1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1 (6 oz.) pkg chocolate chips
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt and soda and stir into creamed mixture, blending well. Add chocolate chips. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes. This recipe can be doubled or tripled for more cookies.
