Dough
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 c. butter
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. cold water

Filling
3 c. sliced apples
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Dough
Sift together the dry ingredients. Cut in the butter. Add eggs and liquid. Roll out half the dough. Place in large edged jelly roll pan. Add filling.

Filling
Slice apples thinly. Add dry ingredients. Stir well. Pour on top of bottom crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Dot with butter. Cover with other half of dough rolled out. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then 350 degrees until done, golden brown and bubbles from juice do not pop - about 40 minutes. Cool. Frost with powdered sugar frosting if desired.
