2c flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp red pepper
1/4 c shortening
1 c (4oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and red pepper; cut in shortening and cheese until mixture resembles coarse meal, Add buttermilk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 10 to 12 minutes.
