Personal Notes:
My mother (Jewell) used to make these every year at Christmas time. She would make a very limited number and dole them out to us a slice at a time. We loved it. Several of our childhood friends have contacted me over the years asking for this recipe. Must be good if they remembered it after 35 years! I was searching through an old box at my mom's house about 18 years ago and came across a stained, tattered index card with this recipe on it. I still have the card.
