1 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground beef
1 T olive oil
2 c onion, finely chopped
1 c green pepper, finely chopped
1 c celery, finely chopped
1 T finely minced garlic
1 T crumbled oregano
2 bay leaves
2 tsp. cumin
3 c tomatoes
1 c water
1 c beef broth
2 c drained kidney beans
1/2 tsp. hot pepper
salt & pepper to taste

Mix two meats together. Heat oil in heavy kettle and add meat. Cook, chopping down and stirring to break up lumps. Add vegetables, garlic, onion, bay leaves and cumin. Stir to blend well. Add tomatoes, broth, water, salt & pepper, red pepper. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring often for 20 minutes. Add beans and cook 10 more minutes.
