1/2 lb ground beef
1/3 cup finely diced onion
1/3 cup finely diced green pepper
1 Tbs oil or margarine
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 large eggs
1 Tbs cornstarch
8 oz cheddar or Swiss cheese, grated
black pepper to taste
1 4oz can mushroom stem and pieces, drained
1 unbaked 9" pastry shell
1 tomato, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the meat and saute the onions and green pepper in oil or margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Drain fat and set aside. Blend the mayonnaise, milk, eggs and cornstarch until smooth. Stir in the meat mixture, cheese, black pepper and mushrooms. Turn into pastry shell and top with tomato slices. Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes until brown on top. Can be frozen. Serves 6-8
