1 lb. rutabagas, peeled and chopped
1 t. salt
6 cups water
1.5 lbs. turnips, peeled and chopped
cup grated parmesan cheese
6 T. butter
cup whipping cream
t. salt
t. pepper
2 T. bourbon (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine rutabagas, 1 t. salt, and water in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil, and cook 25 minutes. Add turnips, and cook 20 more minutes or until vegetables are tender; drain.

Combine vegetables, cheese and next 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mash with a potato masher to desired consistency. Stir in bourbon, if desired.
