3/4 c. Shortening
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Cloves
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1-1/2 c. Brown Sugar, firmly packed
2 Eggs, well beaten
1 Tbsp. Milk
2-1/2 c. Sifted Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Seedless Raisins
1/2 c. Nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, salt, and spices and blend. Add brown sugar gradually and cream well. Add beaten eggs and milk and mix well. Sift flour and soda together. Add flour to first mixture, then raisins and nuts, blending well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Let stand a few minutes, then flatten cookies by stamping with a glass covered with a damp cloth. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
