Any number baked sweet potatoes and
small bowls of the following toppings:

Marshmallows,
Marshmallow creme,
Walnuts or Pecans or both,
Brown sugar,
Butter or Margarine,
Cinnamon & Sugar mixture,
Peanut Butter,
Golden Raisins,
Apple Pie Filling,
Mandarin Oranges,
Sliced Peaches,
Caramel Sauce,
Maple Syrup,
Cinnamon,
Nutmeg,
Ham & Swiss,
Mini Chocolate Chips,
White Chips,
Salt & Pepper.

Directions:
Scrub and pierce potatoes. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes (for medium -sized potatoes), 50 -75 minutes (for large) or until tender. (These may drip in your oven). Cool slightly and cut into strips or pieces, if desired--some students may want to try only a small piece.
Have the students get a plate with a potato and then turn them loose to top their potato as desired.

My rule is no-one gets toppings unless there is some potato underneath! I had a good response from my students, quite a few had never tried a sweet potato. I emphasize the great nutrition in the sweet potato, never mind the toppings aren't so great for us!!
