"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Crazy Chocolate Cake, by Helen Schmidt, is from Helen and Sisters,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 1/2 cup flour 1 cup sugar 3 T. cocoa 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp salt
6 T. salad oil 1 T vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup cold water
Mix very well or sift dry ingredients into a 9 inch pan. Make 3 large depressions. Into one put oil; into the second put vinegar; into the 3rd, vanilla. Over all this pour water. Mix very well with a fork. Bake 350º for about 30 minutes.
This makes its own frosting. It is SO easy and really good and moist.
