Wash and dry lemons well. Remove zest (yellow only).
Allow to soak in alcohol 48 hours to 4 days.
Bring water to a boil, add sugar, stir to dissolve, then allow to cool.
Strain the alcohol through cheese cloth, throw away the zest.
Pour liquid in to clean dry bottles.
Seal. Keep in a dark dry room.
Wait 2 months before drinking.
Serve chilled from the freezer.
