1 lb. ground beef or bulk Italian sausage
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
1 c. chopped onions
3 c. mashed potatoes
1/2 c. diced green pepper, opt.
1 can green beans, drained (I use the liquid as part of the water for cooking my potatoes)
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 c. (4 ounces) shredded cheese.

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat, onion and green pepper, if you use it. Add tomato sauce, seasonings and green beans. Spoon into casserole or shallow baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
