1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 T olive oil
1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
1 slice of ham (or more if desired)
1 lb. fresh asparagus cut in one inch pieces
1/2 cup water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1/2 lb. thin spaghetti
1/2 cup half & half
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Freshly ground pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Heat butter and olive oil, add onion and saute until golden. Add ham and saute briefly. Add asparagus, water, and bouillon cube. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes or until asparagus is tender. Cook spaghetti in boiling water until al dente about 5-6 minutes. Drain well. Return spaghetti to pot, add asparagus mixture and half & half, and Parmesan cheese. Heat through.
