2 1/4 C all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. baking powder 3/4 C Crisco 1 C sugar 2 eggs 2 T milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 C chopped pecans 1 C chopped dates 1/3 cup chopped maraschino cherries 2 1/2 C cornflakes
blend first 4 ingredients together sit aside. blend together 3/4 C crisco and 1 C sugar. Add the eggs and blend well. Add milk and vanilla. Beat well then blend in sifted dry ingr. Add chopped nuts, dates and cherries. Mix thoroughly. Crush cornflakes and drop cookies dough by rounded teaspoons into crushed cornflakes, toss lightly to coat and form into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet-press down slightly and top each with 1/4 cherry. Bake 12/15 mins. at 300º
