8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 T vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup slivered almonds

Directions:

Beat the first four ingredients until light and fluffy. Stir in chocolate chips and set aside. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda & salt. Add water, oil, vinegar & vanilla to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly with mixer. Line muffin tins with double liners. Fill 1/3 full with chocolate mixture; top each with a heaping teaspoon of cheese mixture. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup almonds. Sprinkle on top of each cupcake. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
