2 c seedless raisins
1 c water
2 c sugar
1 c shortening (Crisco)
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c chopped nuts
4 c flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Add water to raisins and boil 5 minutes. Do not drain water from raisins. Cool. Cream the shortening with the sugar and slowly add in eggs until well mixed. Add vanilla. Mix the raisins with the nuts. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda cinnamon and salt. Add raisin mixture and blend well. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until browned.
