2 c. boiling water
2 c. bran
1 c. oil, butter or shortening.
4 c. bran
2 c. sugar
1 quart buttermilk
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/2 c. white flour
5 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
raisins(opt)

Directions:
Directions:
Pour water over 2 c. bran. Let cool. Add oil or shortening. Add more bran, sugar, and buttermilk.
Sift into this mixture; flours, soda, and salt. Mix together. Add raisins. Fill lined or well-greased muffins tins 2/3 full. Bake 20 minutes at 400.
For individual muffins microwave batter in a greased cup. Store batter in covered container in refrigerator for 3-4 weeks.
