1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 pkg (Pillsbury) Coconut Almond or Coconut Pecan Frosting MIX
2 tsp almond extract
1 cup chopped candied mixed fruit
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt

Fudge Frosting:
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp almond extract

Pecans for topping cookies (about 56)

preheat oven to 300F
In a mixing bowl, cream butter, frosting mix and almond extract. Add chopped fruit, flour and salt. Mix well. Shape into 1" balls. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet; flatten. Place a tsp of frosting (below) on each. Top each with a pecan. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. until lightly browned.

Frosting:
Melt chocolate in condensed milk over low heat; remove from heat. Add salt and almond extract and mix well.

Variations: substitute for candied fruit:
1. 1 cup candied red or green cherries cut into quarters.
2. 1 cup gum drops cut into small pieces.
3. 1/2 cup raisins; substitute vanilla or almond extract plus 1 tsp each coconut and rum flavorings.
