10 -12 lb turkey

Rub:
2 T butter
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper
1 T dried sage

Stuffing:
1 apple cut into pieces
1 onion cut into chunks
3 cloves of garlic minced

Basting sauce:
1/2 can chicken broth
3/4 c of apple cider
5 T dark corn syrup

Preheat oven to 500 Melt butter, then mix salt pepper, sage. Set aside. Cut a slit under the skin at the neck of bird. With you hand pull skin away from breast. Spread rub mixture on meat under skin. Combine apple, garlic and onion in bowl. Then fill chest cavity with stuffing. Combine broth, cider, and corn syrup in pot bring to a boil. Pour 1 c of basting liquid in bottom of roasting pan and reserve the rest for basting. Put bird in pan. Cook for 30 minutes at 500, then at 350 until bird is fully cooked (from 90 minutes to 2 hours.) Baste throughout cooking.
