1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
5 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups granulated sugar
4 extra-large eggs
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1/2 cup lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium bowl, with an electric beater at medium speed; cream butter, granulated sugar and gradually beat in the flour until blended. Spread over the bottom of an ungreased 15 X 10 X 1 in jelly roll pan. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven until crust begins to brown around the edges, approximately 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Leave oven control set at 350 degrees. Shortly before crust is baked make the lemon filling with the rest of the listed ingredients. Stir together the flour, baking powder, and sugar. In medium bowl with an electric beater at medium speed, slightly beat the 4 eggs; add the flour mixture; beat until blended; add lemon rind, and lemon juice. Beat until blended. Pour over the hot crust and continue baking until golden brown and set, approximately 18-20 minutes. Place on wire rack to cool completely. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Cut into small squares and remove with a spatula.
