Break bread into bit-size pieces. Put in oblong pan (12x18x2 -inch). Beat eggs and sugar lightly, add cold milk and pour over bread. Dot with butter and bake in a 375F oven till custard is set. Do not heat milk before mixing. Top it with lemon sauce, cherries or strawberries.
