2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour 1 scant teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 stick plus 2 Tablespoons butter (very soft) 1 ten ounce block Cracker Barrell extra sharp freshly grated cheddar cheese 1 ten ounce block Cracker Barrell sharp freshly grated cheddar cheese
Mix all ingredients by hand. Knead thoroughly until warm, soft, and pliable. Make straws, using a cookie press with a star tip on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 - 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely, and store in an airtight container.
